Letters to Amy

1943-1946

A packet of letters, tied with ribbon, and a scrapbook of clippings, cards and photos--my Mom saved everything about my Dad's years in the Army, serving in Australia, the Phillippines, and, finally, Japan after the end of WWII.

I could not use them all--the book would have been 250 pages.

She was mad he had to report for duty, and her sisters' husbands, working in "war effort" jobs, did not.  He was 29 when he reported for duty. The other men in his platoon called him Pappy.
